How to Enable Permalinks in WordPress – Yahoo Hosting
Problem : WordPress Permalinks don’t work on Yahoo! hosting because they do not give their users access to the htaccess file – which means you cannot create the mod_rewrite rules needed for custom permlinks. Any other WordPress feature.. addon or plugin that you may need your .htaccess file for? Forget it – they do not give you access to it. Period.
Solution: Go to Permalink Settings > Select Custom Structure. And define the value as /index.php/%postname%/ Then your URL will look like http://yoursite.com/index.php/your-post-title.
Huh finally Permanlinks are enabled for my blog. Just incase if you dont know, Permalinks will help you on SEO. Yes Yahoo hosting sucks !

i have a question………………
ive been thinking of doing this for a long time now.. i want to just buy a data plan and use my mj to make and revieve calls do you know if theres a better way to rcieve calls on iphone whith mj. without using backgrounder……..can you use some kinda …push…
useing backgrounder just drains my battery and my phone gets really hot.. if i can recieve call from my mj number on my iphone that would be great…no more big cell bills.

Don’t know if you still checking your blog, but you are only a few on the net mentioning this index.php workaround when using WP through Yahoo webhosting. I’ve been with Yahoo for years hosting my static web pages site. Only until, just doing a manual WP install (not the 1 click install), I am now learning of some disadvantages with Yahoo. Yes, the index.php trick does work for permalinks, but when I did permalink change, then Akismet spam blocker could not connect to yahoo server. When I switched back to ‘default WP permalink;, Akismet spam blocker worked again. Do you know of a workaround for getting Akismet to work with the permalink change (using the yahoo host) or another alternative spam blocking such as captcha? What are you using for spam protection for your blog?
Of course, I can just go with the default permalink so that Akismet will work. I have not fully launched my blog yet and hesitating going ahead without some reasonable spam protection and I hear Akismet suppose to be good. Decisions, decisions, but the one decision that I can make right now, is, agreement with you that Yahoo sucks!

Hi
i have Iphone with OS 3.1.3 (7E18).
i am unable to connect bluetooth device. The Iphone is visible to other devices and other device is is also visible to Iphone on bluetooth…it just doesn’t connect…Any ideas

I followed your steps and my permalink changed but my site doesn’t open if i type http://www.imupdated.com. I need to type http://www.imupdated.com/index.php. any help?
