Yes, the index.php trick does work for permalinks, but when I did permalink change, then Akismet spam blocker could not connect to yahoo server. When I switched back to 'default WP permalink;, Akismet spam blocker worked again. Do you know of a workaround for getting Akismet to work with the permalink change (using the yahoo host) or another alternative spam blocking such as captcha? What are you using for spam protection for your blog? Of course, I can just go with the default permalink so that Akismet will work. I have not fully launched my blog yet and hesitating going ahead without some reasonable spam protection and I hear Akismet suppose to be good. Decisions, decisions, but the one decision that I can make right now, is, agreement with you that Yahoo sucks!
